Evaluation of Awareness and Knowledge of Pharmacovigilance amongst Final Year Students of Rivers State College of Health Science and Technology, Nigeria

Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) till date are still considered as one of the main problems therapy. Pharmacovigilance is monitoring safety by means spontaneous adverse-effect reporting systems, case control and cohort studies.
 This study evaluated levels awareness knowledge pharmacovigilance (i.e., ADR reporting) amongst final year students Rivers State College Health Science Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It was a cross sectional survey 200 from eight Schools institution. Specially adapted structured questionnaires were administered to obtain information on their ADRs. Simple descriptive statistics used analyze data that obtained. The result showed over 72% each had good ADR, about 62% aware system, while less than 50% process ADRs.
 Final Harcourt have ADR. However, system particularly (pharmacovigilance) poor needs improvement.
